What would you do if your wedding day was fast approaching, all the pieces were in place... until you found out that the venue for your ceremony was abruptly closed due to a flood? Emily and Mike responded by quickly finding an even better venue for their ceremony and took it all in stride. This set the tone for their beautiful wedding day that all came together perfectly and reminds us all that everything really does happen for a reason. Emily and Mike were lucky to find the York Club in downtown Toronto as their alternative location to be married in and it was stunning. We spent the first part of the day taking pictures of Emily and her bridesmaids getting ready at her west end home. We then traveled to the swanky York Club to meet up with Mike and his groomsmen and then had our time with the soon-to-be newlyweds. This was followed by an intimate ceremony on the regal staircase of the club before heading out to the party back in the west end at a massive industrial loft space used by Mike's business. We had a hard time envisioning this space, but once we arrived, we were in awe of how the right decor, lighting and table settings can really transform a venue into something spectacular. Add in all the guests and a glowing bride and groom and you get one special night to remember. In between the laughter, tears, dancing and reflection, we had so many chances to capture Emily and Mike together, taking in their wedding day and each other while enjoying this special time. It's so nice to see couples on their wedding day take the time to be with each other and not get too caught up in some of the drama that may present itself.
Like always, we tend to leave during the height of the party and dancing, but we are certain the festivities lasted well into the early morning and we can't wait to hear all about it. We are so happy for Emily and Mike and can't imagine a more perfect match.
