Congratulations to Sarit and Kevin who were married last Sunday, May 22nd at the famous Windsor Arms Hotel in downtown Toronto. In addition to a fabulous venue, we had great weather (well, great for Sheena and I as photographers since it was a bit overcast - perfect lighting!) and, even though it rained a little bit while we were photographing Sarit and Kevin in the middle of Avenue Road, we simply used it to our advantage by having the couple pull out their umbrellas to catch them walking down the street while scoring a free ice cream treat from a parked ice cream truck (yes, wearing a wedding dress will pretty much get you anything!). Once the sky cleared shortly after, we headed to Yorkville and Bloor St with the wedding party. It's so much fun to work with a bride and groom on their wedding day in an urban setting like Yorkville since we can use people's reactions and the everyday movement of cars and pedestrians as artistic elements in the photographs. But, we really wanted to use the decor of the Windsor Arms hotel as well so we made our way back and continued taking pictures of Sarit and Kevin around the venue while using its majestic chandeliers, architecture and unique restaurants and bars. Finally, we had to let Sarit and Kevin get ready for the main event of the day - the wedding ceremony. After Sarit and Kevin exchanged their vows and marched back down the aisle as husband and wife, it was time for the party to start. The action never seemed to stop and I always knew where to find Sarit - in the middle of the dance floor enjoying the best night of her life! Unlike most wedding receptions, this one had lots of extras - the father of bride serenading the newlyweds with a song, the bride and groom singing a Jason Mraz song for the guests, as well as a slide show, and a birthday to celebrate.
Sheena and I had a blast spending the day with Sarit and Kevin. If the wedding is any indication of what is to come, we are certain that Sarit and Kevin's lives will be filled with excitement, emotion and an unlimited supply of love.
