What a fabulous wedding day it turned out to be for Jenn and Ken who tied the knot on Saturday, July 16 at the Capitol Event Theatre in Toronto, ON! The day started with Sheena and I arriving at Blo Blow Dry Bar in Toronto to snap some pictures of Jenn and her entourage preparing for the day. We then drove to the bride and groom's home nearby where we were met by Ken and his groomsmen for some photo opts. We stuck in the neighbourhood and found some funky garage doors, fences and windows that we thought reflected the upbeat and hip personalities of the Ken and his boys. After that, Sheena and I drove to the hotel where Jenn and her bridesmaids were putting on final touches for the day. As always, Sheena and I avoid any of the 'standard' wedding shots so, for Jenn's dress, Sheena took me down to the main lobby of the hotel where we moved things around and set up the dress to hang on a baggage carrier. With lots of onlookers, we found our shot and then quickly headed back upstairs to take pictures of the girls before we had to leave for the church.
The ceremony was beautiful and after the family photos that proceeded, we had our time with the wedding party. We decided to walk along St. Clair Avenue excited as to what backdrops would present themselves. We found some alleyways, brick walls, a cross-walk, a bridge and then some green space nearby. Then, we had Jenn and Ken to ourselves where we photographed the couple near the venue and around Yonge St where they received a lot of honks and waves from people passing by.
The party was a hit and Sheena and I loved capturing all the moments from the intimate speeches, to the quick little kisses behind the scenes, to the moves on the dance floor. It was a very memorable night and we were honored to be a part of Jenn and Ken's big day. We wish them a fun and safe honeymoon and can't wait to hear about all the details of the trip when they return. All the best to Jenn and Ken and their new lives together!
