Kim, James, Max + Chuck (the dog)

Gary Bieler April 2, 2011

Sheena and I always love photographing families with dogs since we couldn't even image our own family without Mr. Brown (our chocolate lab). So, we were very excited to visit Kim, James, their son, Max, along with their dog, Chuck, to take pictures of the whole family. This also coincided with Max's first birthday! Kim had some special birthday cupcakes for Max once we set up our high-key backdrop. It only took a couple of seconds for Max to head over to the chair with the treats and eat as much as he could. Chuck also helped to "clean up" the floor. Then, the tricky part, which was to photograph everybody on the bed WITH Chuck. Normally, this is quite hard to pull off since the dogs are usually distracted and rarely look at the camera. But, as luck would have it, Chuck was looking right at me within the first two shots before becoming distracted and leaving the bed. That was more than enough time for us to get at least one great shot of everybody looking at us. Happy birthday Max and we look forward to seeing you again at your next birthday! Gary + Sheena
