We rarely have a double engagement session, but Sheena and I love the unexpected and that's what happened when we met Amy and Brian down at the Beaches in Toronto for their engagement session last week. Amy really wanted a perfect sunset as a backdrop to their engagement pictures, but the weather gods didn't cooperate on our scheduled date. We decided to go ahead with the session, nevertheless, since both Amy and Brian looked great and we didn't want to waste the opportunity. Sheena and I spent most of the time on the beach and around the water before the light seemed to just vanish on us due to the heavy clouds. Not wanting Amy to be disappointed with the lack of sunset, we rescheduled another engagement shoot a couple of days later and hit the jackpot! This time, the weather was perfect and provided us with perfect lighting. This time, we moved around some of the parks just off of the boardwalk and then made our way down Queen St East, using the alleys and stairs in our compositions, before ending up back at the lake to catch the sun going down. There, we immediately noticed the stunning reflections off a giant puddle that we used to capture Amy and Brian. We also used the "magic hour" that occurs right when the sun drops below the horizon to snap a couple more shots of Amy and Brian.
We had a great time and we so happy that we continued the shoot so that Amy could get the exact pictures she envisioned. We can't wait to photograph the big day coming up in July!
