Kim and Danny are clearly a couple in love and it didn't take much effort at all to get them to embrace and demonstrate some public displays of affection. Sheena and I took Kim and Danny to an area of Toronto that we haven't really photographed at before, but it was the perfect decision as we found so many unique and artistic elements that unfolded as we walked (well, more like drove since one half of the couple - no names mentioned - didn't want to get too sweaty for the pictures). Luckily, Sheena has lots of good tips to help clients look their best so Danny (sorry, that slipped) had nothing to worry about.
Kim, who was quite timid at first in front of the camera, quickly found her groove and did a fabulous job of relaxing and posing for the camera for the entire shoot. I knew that she would have continued the session long into the night if time wasn't a factor. We also stopped at one of the best views of the city where Kim and Danny played around on the boardwalk and we were able to use our off-camera lighting to capture some intimate moments before a backdrop of a city of close to 3 million people. Then, by a strange chance, Danny and I had the exact same thought! Run towards the crowd of seagulls in the empty parking lot and make lots of noises! Well, Danny and Kim did just that and Danny even astounded Sheena and I with his improvised seagull scream (actually, that is what scared the birds - not their running towards them).
The engagement shoot ended with some snacks and tons of memories. We always love shooting engagement photos since we get to learn so much about a couple and have the opportunity to spend time with them during one of the happiest times of their lives. We are looking forward to photographing the BIG DAY in October! Congratuations!
