Jaime and Dave definitely had a very memorable wedding, to say the least. Not only was their wedding on September 8, 2011 (the opening day for TIFF), and not only was it at the fabulous 4 Seasons Hotel in downtown Toronto's Yorkville (a hub for all the celebrities attending TIFF), but the entire area was buzzing with people, events, movies and a stunning bride and groom right in the middle of the action. Sheena and I were thrilled to be with Jaime and Dave as we took advantage of Yorkville and the amazing day we were having. Sheena and I first managed to navigate our way through Yorkville before parking and unloading our gear at the hotel. We met up with Jaime in her suite in the 4 Seasons to take pictures of her and her entourage getting ready, finishing up their hair and taking pictures of the dress and rings. We then made our way to Dave's room where we snapped some pictures of him and his brother getting ready for the big moment when he would see Jaime for the first time in her wedding dress. After the two met and celebrated seeing each other before the ceremony, we created some images of the couple inside the hotel before we headed out to the street. There were so many amazing photographic elements that surrounded us outside that I had a hard time focusing on each picture as we were explaining to Jaime and Dave where we wanted them to stand and look! We brought out our video light and other lighting gear to help create some added rim light and to separate Jaime and Dave from the various backgrounds as we used the buildings, garages, fire escapes and pathways to frame the both of them. We then met up with the wedding party for some group shots before heading back to the hotel to photograph the guests and ceremony.
Then, immediately after Jaime and Dave exchanged their vows, it was time to party long into the night. The reception was a great mix of funny and tearful speeches with tons of laughs and love that filled the room. As usual, Sheena and I never have the chance to see the end of the night since we leave well before the early hours of the next day, however, it is quite safe to assume that the party was just getting started as we left. We wish Jaime and Dave all the best in their new lives together and look forward to seeing them soon!
