We were thrilled to be a part of Jessalyn and Brian's wedding day as they tied the knot a few weekends back at one of their favorite places to eat in the city - Globe Bistro on the Danforth. Despite the weather calling for imminent rain all day, somehow the skies opened up for us exactly when we needed them to as we first met at the Evergreen Brickworks nearby as it offered a great mix of indoor and outdoor spots for our bride/groom session as well as family pictures around the site. It was such a blast spending time with the the wedding party during to start the day because their personalities, sense of humor and vivid dresses really worked well with the industrial and gritty backgrounds and walls that surrounded us. The lighting was quite soft as well which offered a good contrast for the hard lines and ancient looking machinery that were an important element of the space we were in. We also spent some time with the groomsmen and explored a bit more of the defunct kilns and loading doors before having time with just the bride and groom alone. We embraced the slight rain and wind by adding in some rain boots and a funky umbrella, however, we could quickly tell that it didn't matter what the weather was on this day because Jessalyn and Brian were simply focused on getting married and enjoying every second of the day. We finished our time at the Brickworks by taking pictures of extended family and friends before heading up the hill to our final destination for the day.
The Globe is a very popular restaurant in the east end of the city and, having been there myself many times, I was really excited about having the entire space booked for Jessalyn and Brian's wedding. The afternoon started with a lovely cocktail hour in the bar area at the front of the restaurant and was followed by a very intimate ceremony upstairs as Jessalyn and Brian were surrounded by their kids and family who were all so incredibly happy to see two families joining together. Before we knew it, it was time for a dinner, dancing, speeches and everything in between including a huge win for Jessica and Brian who took home the award for "Best Couple" (what a coincidence) and a the official cracking of the creme brulee to start the party as the night progressed. Throw in amazing music, an open dance floor and it was the perfect way to end the night as we ended our day with this wonderful couple. It truly was so much fun and rewarding to be a part of this special day and to watch the beginning of something special unfold. Thanks for having us!
