A few weekends ago, we had the pleasure of photographing Karen and Richard's wedding at the stunning Hockley Valley Resort in Mono, Ontario. However, before we made our way north to the resort, there was still the business of getting ready and then getting married so we met Karen and Richard at their hotel to begin the day. We loved the excitement brewing in Karen's room and capturing all the little details that make this part of the day so special. Then, it turned out that Richard was so excited to tie the knot that he and the groomsmen had already left for the church! After calling them back in the limo, I had a few minutes to wander around with the guys close to the hotel to snap a few pictures of the crew hanging out.
The wedding service at the church was so upbeat and thoughtful and all friends and family had special roles to play throughout this part of the day. We knew from previously photographing Karen and Richard's engagement that Richard could sing quite well, but we were so taken back when Richard took the microphone and sang to his new bride in front of all their guests. It is amazing to be a part of such raw emotion and love as it presents itself.
Then, it was off to the resort where we spent a bit of time photography just the bride and groom as we wandered around a nearby pond and explored some of the grounds including a small local winery and ravine. After losing track of time, we had to quickly hurry to get ready as the new bride and groom made their grand entrance into the ballroom to start the night with their first dance. Aside from the lovely toasts and thoughtful remarks from all those in attendance, this wedding filled the evening night sky with jubilant singing all night long. Lucky for us, it really did appear that every single guest that night could sing quite well and all it took was one person to start singing before the entire room was off their chairs joining in to the chorus. We love being able to photograph such amazing experiences and we are so happy to have been a part of this wonderful wedding! We wish Karen and Richard all the best as they begin their new lives together,
