What better way to heat up the end of winter than with an engagement session! We met up with Karen and Richard last weekend at their home in Brampton, Ontario to photograph a new engagement and capture the excitement leading up to Karen and Richard's wedding in July. Sure, the weather outside on this day was not amazing but it gave us what we needed to get some fun and creative images of Karen and Richard in their natural elements around their home and city. We started out in Karen and Richard's home and used all the artistic elements that both Sheena and I could pick out quite easily. We used the soft natural light on the living room, the elegance of the dining room (of course, we had to set the scene but adding in the warm glow of a candle mixed with our warm video light), as well as a classic wooden bench that Karen and Richard both loved. We made sure to include Karen's mom and son who were with us as well at the house watching the action.
We then headed out to the Brampton train station, which may not sound too impressive, but, as soon as we pulled in, we were immediately overloaded with options to create some amazing images. We always love when couples bring their own ideas and worked with Karen who wanted a warm cozy winter feel using her blanket. I thought this would work great with some of the tall grass by the waiting area and we ended the day by incorporating some mugs that Karen and Richard has custom made. As luck would have it, there was a small, local coffee shop directly in front of us to use a the perfect backdrop for our last few pictures. It was a great start to the 2015 wedding season for us and we can't wait to photograph Karen and Richard's wedding in a few months!
